Hi everybody !
I have a problem with the speed definition that LPCXPRESSO calculates...
I'am Using a 12 MHz osc. to run CPU with 100 MHz Clk...

The fact is Why LPCXPRESSO configures a 4.00 MHz when originally uses a 100.0 MHz ???

LPC-Link is lowering the speed if problems occur. Your SWD speed of 3000kHz is default speed (http://www.support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/MultipleJtagDevices?highlight=%28speed%29 describes how to reduce SWD speed). Your flash writing problem looks like a hardware problem, but you are telling us nothing about your board :eek: so I can't help you.

If it's a new board and you are trying to flash it first time it's important to check the hardware ;) There a several hardware problems possible, which can cause SWD failures :) To avoid a few of them a fast test is to use ISP via UART ;)

The board I'm using is a LPC1769 Kit + LPC Link from embedded artist.. http://www.embeddedartists.com/products/lpcxpresso/lpc1769_xpr.php
I used until yesterday with no prob. so i believe there's a configuration problem or something else... IDK.

#1 If you use a simple sample (SysTick) or create a new LPCXpresso project with default settings there's no reason why your board shouldn't work.

#2 Usually [COLOR=Red]switching to ISP[/COLOR] and trying to flash the board via SWD is enough to revive your board :)

#3 Sometimes that's not enough and your last hope is[COLOR=Red] using ISP[/COLOR] with [COLOR=Red]FlashMagic [/COLOR](http://www.flashmagictool.com/). Deleting and flashing via UART-ISP is very reliable and still working if SWD refuses to work ;) So if you haven't damaged or protected (CRP3) your board that's solving your problem. I've seen that several times :) If you add an UART-RS232 or UART-USB (See #15 of http://knowledgebase.nxp.com/showthread.php?t=1931, http://flic.kr/p/bCdFve, Argentina: http://www.openhacks.com/page/productos/id/6/title/A000014) that's done within a few minutes :)

The board is working fine. I downloaded another project with no problem....
Still looking for a solution to flash the target with the correct app.
... I'll let U note if something get better.... :(

AFAIR SWD is detecting the actual clock speed of the target. So if you read

your target is running with 100MHz. 4MHz indicates IRC :)

That's not always working. Therefore 'Vector catch' mode is more reliable. It's resetting (via hardware reset) your target twice (before and after flashing) instead once and obviously using IRC while programming :eek:

The assumed clock is whatever is calculated by the debug utility. In this case, the IAP flash API needs to know the core clock frequency to program flash. Not all bootrom flash APIs require this information. The reason you see 4 MHz reported, is (in one instance) you specified vector catch (i.e. reset vector catch) which instructs the debugger to include additional reset processing (of which vector catch is one part of) during connection. After reset, the core clock is the IRC value, 4 MHz, so that's why you see it as Zero points out.

Having said all that, the clock setting is unrelated to your problem. It appears there's an issue handling the gap in your image. I can't reproduce a problem here using a similar image. If you'd like to post your .axf file, I can have a look. In the meantime, I recommend you update to the LPCXpresso 5.1.2 release.

Hi.
I've checked again but still with problems.
The error code indicates inssufficient USB ( support.code-red-tech.com/CodeRedWiki/CommitFlashWrite ) power capability from USB... I've powered the board with an aditional regulator.. [COLOR=Red][B]It is not a Power supply problem....[/B][/COLOR]
The odd thing is with some projects writes ok...
This stuff is driving me mad..... :(

#2 Seperate LPC-link and target board. Supply target board with 3.3V and flash it via ISP. Your target board is a simple LPC1769. If ISP isn't able to flash it you've a damaged chip and are barking up the wrong tree :)

Gustavo,

It seems you've changed/rebuilt the image since you posted the .axf file, and captured the trace below. I've looked at your ELF image, and see nothing wrong with it. I can flash the image without trouble using the flash dialog (independent of GDB).

Code Red has identified one issue which requires investigation. During a debug session, GDB sends the image to the debug utility for flashing. For the image you posted, the length delivered to the debug utility by GDB appears to be 4 bytes less than what the flash dialog reports for the same image file.
