Hi guys.

Originally I used LPCXpresso 7.8 to program my LPC812 board. Recently I upgraded to Windows 10, no problem. Then a few days ago I got a LPC11C24 board and my LPCXpresso cannot connect to this board with error No compatible emulators available. So I downloaded LPCXpresso 6.1.0 and successfully connect and upload some example to the LPC11C24 board.

After that I come back to my LPCXpresso 7.8 to upload some code to the LPC812 board, and to my surprise, I got the error No compatible emulators available. I come back to LPCXpresso 6.1.0 and try the Program Flash function, the one with the IC icon with my LPC812 and it can find by LPC812 board. I tried LPCXpresso 7.8 again: No compatible emulators available.

I tried using LPCXpresso 7.9, restarting, unpluging, clean project, deleting launch configuration but no use. I also try uninstalling everything and reinstalling only LPCXpresso 7.9, uninstall the driver and reinstall from the LPCXpresso 7.9 folder but still get that error.

Any help/pointing is greatly appreciated.

Have you been using the same workspace with all of these versions? Please try a new workspace and import your projects and then try again.

Failing that:
I assume you are using the OM13012 board?
After inserting the board, does it appear in Device Manager as "USB device with DFU capabilities"
Does the board boot and then appear as "LPC-Link Debug Probe v1.1"?

Thank you for your reply.

- I tried using the same workspace as well as using a new workspace and import the LPC open project but still got the same error.
- The LPC11C24 board that I am using is the REV B, 2010.
- Yes it appears as "USB device with DFU capabilities"
- No it always appears in the Device Manager as "USB device with DFU capabilities"

I don't see any difference. My cmd says that "Booting LPC-Link with LPCXpressoWIN.enc". But then I still get the error.

Also I just realized that if I tried to connect using LPCXpresso 6.1, in the Device Manager, the name will change from "USB device with DFU capabilities" to "HID-compliant vendor-defined device". After that the LPCXpresso 7.9 can connect to the board. Still unable to load the code though. When I tried to load the blinky program, I got the error:

Error in final lunch sequence
02: Failed on connect
Target marked as not debuggable.
Emu(0): Connected. Was: NotConnected. CpuID: 00000000. Info: HID64HS12

If I unplug and plug the USB cable in again, then the LPCXpresso 7.9 cannot connect again.

More update. I just tried with another LPC812 board. I plug the cable in, try LPCXpresso 7.9, cannot connect, then try with LPCXpresso 6.1, the device changes from "USB device with DFU capabilities" to "HID-compliant vendor-defined device", then I tried uploading the code with LPCXpresso 7.9, successful. The LED blinks.

Unplug and plug the USB cable again, cannot connect again. Also the other LPC812 board has never got any problem before.

So, that is part of your problem. Your PATH is not setup correctly. Generally this problem can be solved by fixing your PATH environment variable, for example to ensure that the "Windows\system32" directory is on it.
[Edit: The Windows PATH issues FAQ has been updated to correctly mention wmic and cscript]

The other is that after booting LPC-Link, it is not showing up as a device. Using Device Manager are there any missing device drivers?

I checked the PATH, it has both the "Windows\system32" and "Windows\SysWOW64".
I don't really understand you do you mean by "after booting LPC-Link, it is not showing up as a device". IT showed up as VID: 0471 PID: DF55 (USB Device with DFU Capabilities) and also there is no missing device driver.

You also need Windows\System32\Wbem on the PATH (the FAQ has been updated to reflect this)

"USB Device with DFU Capabilities" is unbooted. Please read the FAQ:
