Content originally posted in LPCWare by Ex-Zero on Tue Jun 29 05:36:30 MST 2010
Just trying to reduce the size of my new LPC1768 Board and checked my SWD-Connector (SWDCLK, SWDIO, SWO, GND).

My Scope doesn't show any activity at SWO-Pin so I disconnected this wire and LPCXpresso seems to work without problems.

User manual describes SDO as something optional:

"SWO Output Serial Wire Output. The SWO pin optionally provides data from the ITM and/or the ETM for an external debug tool to evaluate."

Don't understand that and don't know if SDO is used by LPCXpresso at all.

Does anyone know if SDO is optional or if I lose LPCXpresso functions after reducing my Debug Interface to SWDCLK, SWDIO and GND ?
