Hi All,

I am wondering if the LPC824 when powered at 3V3 has some pins that are 5V tolerant and can be used as digital input to get data with 0-5V logic.

Can you help me to find out this detail?

Thanks in advance

Hi @tommino,

The LPC82x User Manual states what pins are 5V tolerant on "Table 405. Pin description". Specifically, look at the footnotes of the 4th column in that table. In general, if the pin has a [2], [3], [4], [5] or [8] footnote, it is 5V tolerant (see the footnotes for exceptions of each).

Hi Edwin,

Thanks for the message. Could you please also tell me the difference between a "5V tolerant pin" and a "5V tolerant pad"?

Hi @tommino,

The distinction between pins and pads only matters if you are using the HVQFN33 package of the LPC824. In general terms you can consider them equal.
