The QCA7000 is a chip introduced by Qualcomm.

I think you should contact Qualcomm for instructions.

Hello,

By using nxp LPC and connect to QCA7000, it can transmitting and receiving data over the power line.
Now my setup is LPC as a master in the SPI protocol, with the QCA7000 acting as a slave. I am able to read/write qca register from LPC side. Next step is Powerline Communication.

Question: If start to transmit data to power line, what kind of signal can be measured?

Thanks

Hi @JasonTseng

The type of signal you would measure on the power line will typically depend on the modulation scheme used (such as OFDM, BPSK, QPSK). You can expect:
• Modulated RF signal: Typically, in the frequency range of tens to hundreds of kilohertz, or even up to a few megahertz, depending on the standard used.
• Amplitude or phase shifts: This depends on the specific modulation being used, such as phase-shift keying (PSK) or amplitude modulation.
• Noise: Power lines are a noisy environment, so you might see noise superimposed on the modulated signal.
You can measure this signal using an oscilloscope or a spectrum analyzer connected to the power line via an appropriate coupling circuit.

BR

Hello Hang,

Thanks for the response.

Based on the QCA's datasheet, it uses OFDM mode for communication.

To measure OFDM signal using an oscilloscope connect to power line

if we want to get data payload, should we measure it before or after PLC coupling?

ps: I also check with ChatGPT but don't get good answer.

Can you please help check with HW engineer?

Thanks
