LPC824 recommended quartz oscillator

Hi all,

I am looking for a quartz oscillator to be used with the LPC824. I have seen that the LPCXpresso824-MAX Board uses the ABLS2-12.000MHZ-D4Y-T but it is too bluky for my new board (about 10mm length). Is there anything else with smaller footprint that you can recommend? Is ABM3B-12.000MHZ-B2-T a good replacement?

Hi,

I think it is okay to use any 12MHz crystal with proper load capacitor.

so the ABM3B-12.000MHZ-B2-T is okay, the load cap is 18pF, so the two capacitor value is:

CX1=CX2=18pF*2=36pF.

Considering the parasitic cap, you can use 33pF cap for the CX1 and CX2.
