Hello!

I downloaded the lpcxpresso55s36_host_msd_command_bm example to use for my LPC5536-EVK board. My process for running the example is as follows:

1) I plugged the board into the computer via J1

2) built and downloaded the project to the device and clicked resume so the project is running

3) opened the COM port

4) plugged my MSD device (a basic thumb drive/pen drive) into J3.

According to the readme document my terminal is supposed to look like this:

but instead mine simply says "host init done" and then nothing.

I know I'm supposed to "Set the hardware jumpers (Tower system/base module) to default settings". Is this done with jumper cables on the physical microcontroller, and how do I know what pins to connect and what is considered default?

It's likely I'm missing stuff in my set-up/environment, but I'm not sure what since I'm so new to the IDE and board in general.

Any help/pointers appreciated!

Thanks,

Emma

Hello, my name is Pavel, and I will be supporting your case, I recommend reviewing this document in chapter Table 5. LPCXpresso55S36 connector, here are the default position pins.

LPCXpresso55S36 Development Board User Manual (nxp.com)

If your issue is still there let me know.

Best regards,
Pavel

Hi Pavel,
Thankyou for the information! I missed the section on JP2, stating that external power needed to also be supplied to J2 in order for Host mode to work.
Many thanks!
Emma
