LPC54S018-EVK recovery after selecting the external clock as system clock

Hey i messed up my LXPpresso54S018-EVK by selecting the external oscillator as system clock.
Now the debugger cant find the SWD connection anymore.
I already tried to get back the access with the ISPconnect script, but it didn't work. (https://community.nxp.com/t5/LPCXpresso-IDE-FAQs/ISP-Reset-over-debug/m-p/470945)

Also the flashmagic stuff doesn't work:

I found a recovery guide for a different board:

So my question is there something similar to this guide for the LXPpresso54S018-EVK?

every help is welcome, i am desperate at the moment.

The guide worked for me!
I needed to make minor adaptation because of another evaluation kit model, but in the end it was easy.

I uploaded a commented version of the guide for people hitting this subject with the same issue and EVK.
Maybe the comments can prevent frustration and save some time
