topic Drop in replacement for LPC546xx in LPC Microcontrollers

The product I am working on uses an LPC54618J512ET180E. I noticed that recently, the LPC54628 was released and has the same TFBGA-180 package. From the datasheets it looks like the 54628 is a drop-in-replacement for the 54618. Is this true? If the pinout is the same, can I safely port software from the 54618 to the 54628 without needing to rewrite peripheral and IO drivers?

Additional information on the lifespan of the LPC54618J512ET180E package would be helpful as well.

Thank you,

Evan
