    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;I'd like to use the pin named P0_30-ISP_FC0_TXD(A2)&amp;nbsp;as a&amp;nbsp;USART transmitter.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is this pin an open drain pin by a default mode?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If this pin is an open drain pin, I have to put pull-up resistor.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don't want to put pull-up resistor.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please tell me whether pull-up resistor is needed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;In the same way.&lt;BR /&gt;When also using D3,P12 pin as a USART transmitter, please tell me whether pull-up resistor is needed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is a stardard I/O pin.The default configuration for standard I/O pins is Z mode. The weak MOS devices provide a drive capability equivalent to pull-up and pull-down resistors.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The below figure shows the possible pin modes for standard I/O pins:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;• Digital output driver: enabled/disabled.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;• Digital input: Pull-up enabled/disabled.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;• Digital input: Pull-down enabled/disabled.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;• Digital input: Repeater mode enabled/disabled.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;• Z mode; High impedance (no cross-bar currents for floating inputs).&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper" image-alt="pastedImage_1.png"&gt;&lt;img src="https://community.nxp.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/68560i95BEFBD60889C372/image-size/large?v=v2&amp;amp;px=999" role="button" title="pastedImage_1.png" alt="pastedImage_1.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Have a great day,&lt;BR /&gt;Sol&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------&lt;BR /&gt;Note: If this post answers your question, please click the Correct Answer button.
