Regarding UART of LPC1768

I working with LPC1768 microcontroller, I am trying to use the UART0, i have initialized the uart module and tried to print a character on Serial monitor. Every time i execute my code i am getting the character printed twice. Please let me know how to overcome this bug. I have attached the code .
