What's wrong with M4 reset (M4_RST) on LPC43x0?

The errata sheet says M4_RST is not functional on LPC43x0. But I tried it on LPC4370 revisions C and D and it seems to work. Is the errata wrong, or is this function broken in some subtle way?

If M4_RST really can't be used, is there a way to simulate reset (for the purpose of a bootloader) without resetting GPIO configuration? I don't like the pulses that come out of the I/O pins when doing a hard reset.

Do you happen to know why M4_RST is listed as non-functional in the errata? I've been using it and it seems to work fine.
