LPCXpresso54608 portable ANSI Terminal

In our development lab, we have many industrial control cabinets with our PLC controller. It is always a “pain” to drag out a PC or laptop, just to provide an ANSI terminal for the PLC. The LPCXpresso54608 Development Board would make a fine ANSI terminal that could be left inside the cabinet.

The 480 by 272 display would be capable of displaying 80 by 30+ lines using a 5x7 font. At my age, I will have to wear glasses and view from about 6”, but it is doable. Is there another, larger LCD that would work with the dev board?

I plan to have a pop up touch keyboard for input.

Hi Tom,

The LPC5460x LCD controller has a programmable display resolution including, but not limited to: 320x200, 320x240, 640x200, 640x240, 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. So you could use a larger display for your application.

Thank you for the response. I did assume that I would be able to configure the LCD peripheral for other displays. I have done that before on an LPC1788.

I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a larger off the shelf LCD that would be plug compatible. If not, the included one will due for now.
