Can I use LPC Xpresso IDE to compile and download my programs to

mbed NXP LPC1768 development board?

For now I'm using Mbed.org online C++ compiler to test different features of the

NXP's LPC1768 microcontroller.

work with LPCXpresso IDE : v7.4.0 but does not explain how to interface
it to the mbed NXP LPC1768 board.

I mean what linker/debugger is needed to download hex files to flash memory.

If you make sure your mbed1768 board has the latest mbed firmware installed, it will then appear as a CMSIS-DAP debug probe, as well as an mbed flash drive.

The LPCXpresso debugger will then be able to debug it in the same way as other debug probe / boards, as described in the LPCXpresso User Guide.

Thank you for the answer, but when I follow the link I get a file called "mbedmicrontroller_141212.htm" of 130 KB (look at the misspelling of microcontroller). I set it on the mbed and remove all other files. Switch power off and on ..... and .... the "mbedmicrontroller_141212.htm" is still there and the old MBED.HTM re-appears. Where does it come from? Apparently it didn't get cleared from the flash rom.

I put the "mbedmicrontroller_141212.htm" in attachment. I changed its extension to .txt to be allowed to upload it, but the content of the .txt is still exactly the same as the .htm when I open it in Notepad++. Is this the correct file for upgrading the firmware?

Thanks for your bold answer, but it's not the right answer. Solution: if Internet Explorer makes a ".htm" file of your download, change it back to ".if" and follow the procedure.
Might be interesting for people who want to use LPCXpresso on an mbed board (like the author of the original question)
