    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Content originally posted in LPCWare by ECamino on Thu May 05 08:00:09 MST 2016&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;We're trying to use the Y2 crystal for the clock on an LPC824Max board.&amp;nbsp; Using LPCOpen "LPCXpresso824-MAX board" v2.19 (the last version).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I removed the 0-ohm resistors at SJ3 and SJ4, and solder-jumped SJ3 1&amp;amp;2 and SJ4 1&amp;amp;2.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I have continuity on Y2 to pins 17 and 18 on the LPC824 chip.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Using LPCOpen project for LPC824 "periph_wwdt"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In file "lpc_board_nxp_lpcxpresso_824\board_sysinit.c", line 68, I commented "Chip_SetupIrcClocking();" and added line "Chip_SetupXtalClocking();"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I build debug (using LPCLink on an LPCxpresso 800 board) and I can see it hangs at sysinit_8xx.c, line 78: "while (!Chip_Clock_IsSystemPLLLocked()){}"&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I checked the Y2 signal with a scope, and there is no crystal signal from either Y2 pad.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;What do I have to do to enable the crystal clock on an LPC824 Max board?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Thanks,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;EC&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
