LPC Microcontrollers中的主题 IPC - follow the Application Note and API, or the multicore sample code?

I have read the Application Note 1117 and looked at the mc_sa_blinky sample code, too.

The AN1117 dates back to 2012 (and FreeRTOS v7.x), while the sample code appears to more recent. The sample code does not make use of the well-documented API defined in AN1117.

So what is the recommended route to follow? What's still supported and what is deprecated?
