I'm totally new to NXP / LPC Xpresso so please forgive me - I have installed the code red IDE and have one C example working on my LPC11U14. However it seems that there are no c++ examples. Q: Am I missing something or is it just that there aren't any C++ examples for the LPC11U14?

Low level stuff is usually coded in C. Using C++ will add no value here, so it is avoided.

The LPCXpresso only supports C. If you need to use C++, please consider to buy RedSuite-NXP edition (http://www.code-red-tech.com/RedSuite5/red-suite-5-nxp.php).
