Field Oriented Control feedback is the phase current and DC bus current. So using KMS with torque control will allow you to control your motor with current. The startup of you motor will begin in open-loop velocity controlled mode unless you add an encoder or use the sensorless hall startup. After the velocity passes the FOC crossover point the torque control will take over the control of the motor. The current in each phase is measured and the velocity is in-regulated.

For more information on FOC control with KMS please look at the training videos on NXP web site.

Give it a try and let the community know how it turns out.

Best Regards,

Philip Drake
