A significant number of customers have been asking for a code example made in CW to enable K70's LCDC using TWR-LCD-RGB and eGUI,a s most of you know there are two code examples for AN4588, one was created using eGUI + IAR 6.3 and the other one was created using PEG+ + CodeWarrior, however those customer who already purchased the CW license were trying to figure out why we don't have a code example using our own software, well; we do have that code example, I'm posting it here for all of those interested in the K70 LCD graphic controller capabilities.

I tried to use it but I have an error . I cannot understand how to fix it ! Maybe you could help me !

I look on the path but there just a psp folder and not a bsp :s

Maybe it's a stupid question but ...

Hi,

Those are only warnings. Have you build the MQX K70 libraries? You should build the libs witrh the included user_config.h

#define MQX_USE_LWTIMER 1 is needed for the demo to work.

Copy user_config.h to C:\Freescale\Freescale_MQX_4_0\config\twrk70f120m

Rebuild the MQX libraries

Rebuild the project.

I'm sorry Luis it's the first time that i use MQX.

How can I built the libraries ? I read that (http://www.freescale.com/files/soft_dev_tools/doc/support_info/FSL_MQX_Getting_Started.pdf) but ... I'm lost.

Could you explain me briefflly what i've to do ?

Hi All,

I also, am trying without success for 3 weeks, to build this demo for CW10.5, MQX 4.0.2, eGUI 3.0, K70, LCD-RGB. I open a new workspace, add the K70 BSP, then I import the demo code into the workspace without coping files into workspace. I copy user_config.h to \Freescale\Freescale_MQX_4_0\config\twrk70f120m. I rebuild the MQX BSP. Then when building demo, I get a large number of errors ranging from 16 to several hundred.

I do have several other applications for K53, K60, & K70 working in MQX all without any graphics, but clearly do not understand what I should be doing for the eGUI demo.

The build errors appear to require modification of the "search path" for the compiler to find several files such as d4d.h, mqx.h, common_files/d4d_private.h, etc. but several hours of attempts to add required paths have not been successful.

I would greatly appreciate any advice to get any simple eGUI demo application working.

Hello,

The original file was tested with MQX 4.0.0 and CW 10.3. Use this new one, tested with MQX 4.0.2 and CW 10.5. Build and debug fine. Use the user_config.h included to rebuil the MQX libs.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I unzipped & then imported the eGUI example without copying to the workspace. Then I copied example user_config.h to BSP. Then I cleaned and built the BSP without errors.

When I build the eGUI example I get 95 errors. One of the significant errors is shown below.

>the file 'bsp.h' cannot be opened

> E:\Freescale\eGUI 3.0_v1\eGUI

I assume that the example error should be fixed by adding the location of the bsp.h file to the compiler "Include User Search Paths". Is this the correct approach?

Where is installed oyur MQX in your machine?

I am using default path : C:\Freescale\Freescale_MQX_4_0

If you are using different, change the MQX_ROOT_DIR

Yes, this is the basic issue ! I have installed CW & MQX on drive E:. The CW default for MQX_ROOT_DIR in the MQX BSP build is E:xxx. The CW default for MQX_ROOT_DIR in the EGUI demo build is C:xxx ! I had not noticed the difference. After adding some additional search paths the demo compiles.

I notice also that in specifying the search paths it is necessary to specify the path on the disk and NOT the path relative to the WORKSPACE. This also had me stumped.

Hi Luis,

I have been debugging the eGUI application. It fails the D4D_Init(&screen_Demo) call which returns a D4D_FALSE. The D4D_Init() eventually calls mem_alloc_internal() procedure which fails with an error code = 4.

Is there additional modification tho the demo application I should be doing ?

No. Are you using the twrk70f120m_Int_Flash_DDRData_Debug configuration? I verified the project running on target. I included the user_config.h I used to build the libraries. No other configuration.

I was using twrk70120m_Int_Flash_SramData_Debug configuration. I need to modify the include directories for the DDRData version and will test that. Makes since that I ran out of ram. I'll post after fix & trial.

Changed the make to add include directories for twrk70120m_Int_Flash_SramData_Debug configuration. Application makes OK.

However, when attempting to initiate debugging, the DDR_Data_Debug_PnE U-MulitLink fails to connect to the target. A dialog box with a "Title" of "SEGGAR J-LINK V4.74" and a message of "No emulators connected via USB" appears. The SramData configuration continues to download OK.

If you're using Pemicro, just change the connection to Pemicro in Debug configurations.

Any ideas on how i could initialize the gui or how to trace the problem?

Are you building the MQX libraries with the user_config.h provided?

Try to debug into the code, if the initialization fails installing the LCD isr is because you're missing #define MQX_ROM_VECTORS 0

Is the case?
