&lt;P&gt;Thank you so much for your interest in our products and for using our community.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;In the document you mention, as such the speed is not being filtered, since for this a large number of samples are required and this involves delays in the closed control loop, which can create instability in the system.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;What is described in the document are two ways to calculate speed:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The first one is based on Hall sensor transitions (Equation 1). However, this presents variations.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The second is based on one hall signal transitions (Equation 2 and Fig. 12).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You can also download the Simulink model at the end of the document for more detail.&lt;/P&gt;
