Runtime error 216 at...

Hello,

Hello, I am encountering trouble with a demo board TWR-KV58220M.

I use this board to develop an electronic evaluation board for a customer but when I try to debug it, it does not work.

I already used the µC (KV58) for an other application with the same evaluation board and it worked well.

I recently upgrade my MCUXpresso to the last version (11.5.0) and I use the PE micro multilink FX Rev A debugger with (I hope the last version of software, which I have apply an upgrade).

The trouble is as follow :

I created a project with a basic configuration (juste to verify if it works)

I generated the code to init the pins and clocks...

I created a debug configuration with my PE micro tool and when I try to debug, the process runs until 100% but before it finished, the following message appear :

I checked the debugger console and here are the errors I got :

I have already searched solutions on the forum but nothing I found works for me.

has anyone encountered this issue to help me to fix it, please ?

Hi Bela,

Have you tried to update the GNU ARM PEMicro Interface Debugging Support?(Help->Check for Updates )

If still not able to debug, maybe you can submit a question to PEMicro. This error has been discussed in PEMicro forum once: MCUXpresso error 216 problem

By the way, the onboard debugger is able to debug it. You can refer: TWR-KV58F220M

Thanks Robin,

I tried doing this upgrade but no changes...

I think that is my demo board which is dead because I try on another demo board (frdm-K64F) and it works.

I am going to try to debug with another computer to verify if it is not my computer that is the problem.

Have you tried to recover the on-board debugger of TWR-KV58F220M? Please refer the answer in: TWR-KV58F220M

Hi Robin,

I run into the same problem:
I have a Multilink Universal FX rev C connected to MIMXRT1064-EVK and
MCUXpresso IDE v11.8.1_1197 on Windows 10 64-bit.
When I try to debug, I received "connection closed by the GDB server" from
MCUXpresso. And a pop up window "Runtime error 216 at 796CAB1E".
The strange thing is when MCUXpresso was first installed on this computer, it
was working ok. Then I did "http://www.pemicro.com/eclipse/updates";. Then came the Runtime error 216.
So I uninstalled the MCUXpresso with the update, and installed the a fresh
MCUXpresso, but the Runtime error 216 wouldn't go away.
Could you please help me?
