PIT interrupt sporadically fires while i2c transfers are active (KL15Z128)

Currently developing a product using MLK15Z128 NXP processor (simple app without RTOS).

I are seeing a strange behavior in PIT interrupt while i2c transfers are active.

PIT channel 0 is set up to fire every 1000usec(1msec) and pull GPIOE-pin1 high upon entering the PIT interrupt and then low upon exiting.

We see that the PIT interrupt fires correctly around every 1000usec when there is no i2c activity.

However, as you can see in the screen capture attached, the PIT interrupt starts firing spuriously almost randomly as soon as i2c transfers are active. It's been also confirmed that the PIT resumes its correct working when there is no i2c activity.

Has anyone seen this behavior?

Sorry guys this issue has been confirmed to be test setup issue not the MCU.

I can't seem to figure out a way to delete this post. <LI-EMOJI id="lia_slightly-smiling-face" title=":slightly_smiling_face:"></LI-EMOJI>
