How to use RTS and CTS for UART communication?

Hello

I am using UART for communication between 2uc I was wondering to use RTS and CTS as through this I can reduce the data loss but I was unable to do it so I wanted the hardware and code wise explanation for this So I wanted to know If there is any application note on this? Also I was wondering can I use these pins for RS-422 communication using multiple uc interacting at same time ? But obviously 1 master and multiple slaves.

in Serial_LDD component of processor expert, I have enabled the RTS, CTS but I couldn't find its function in the method i.e when i checked in help for Serial_LDD there was functions to enable RTS and CTS but after selecting these options in the component properties, it still didn't came in methods. I wanted to know how to use these in my program.
