Hello everyone,

Is it possible to flash a bootloader into a fresh new MKL25Z128VLK4 mcu via USB port (without using SWD/JTAG port)? Or I do need to breakout JTAG pins to my custom KL25 board, and buy an external programmer?

My goal is to to set up by custom board as Mass Storage Device so that new binaries can be copied on it, just like the FRDM behavior.

Thanks in advance

Lore

Hi Lore,

the KL25Z has no ROM bootloader (newer Kinetis devices do have this). So you have to use the SWD/JTAG port to program it the first time.

I hope this helps,

Erich

Hi Erich,

Thanks for your answer, I think you are referring to the supported device table in the KBOOT page. In this case KL27 should be the right choice.

Lore
