I have followed the instructions in the TWR-K60N512 Quick Start Demo Lab Guide, and all the demos work, except for the Web Server demo.

On TWR-K60N512 board, I changed J6 to pins 2-3.

On TWR-SER board, I changed J2 to pins 3-4, added a jumper to J3 pins 2-3, and added a jumper to J12 pins 9-10.

(For the last two, I borrowed jumpers from J5, as directed in the lab instructions.)

One other thing -- I don't have an SD card handy, so I skipped that demo.

With an ethernet cable plugged in, the ethernet jack does not light up. It is either defective, or somehow turned off.

What do you think? I am just starting on my first Freescale project, and I would appreciate any suggestions.

Mike van Lammeren

Hi Mike

We received two serial boards recently that didn't work due to bad soldering of the PHY on it. One could be corrected by re-soldering the pins. These boards were replaced and both new boards were then OK. This means that you may have received a bad board (?).

Try the test software for the tower from here: http://www.utasker.com/SW_Demos.html

also double check the settings from here (guide to running the test software from link) http://www.utasker.com/docs/KINETIS/uTaskerV1.4_Kinetis_demo.pdf

If that runs it will presumably be due to a SW config error or similar. If it doesn't run and the boards are configured correctly I would try a new board.

Regards

Mark

Do you have any LED turn on in TWR-SER? Have you run the usb examples as well?

Sometimes, TWR-SER is plugged incorrectly or backward. Make sure you could see a LED. Does the TWR-SER turn on a LED if the TWR-K60 is unplugged from the TWR system? This is just a proof of concept.
