As depicted above the chip configuration chapter has more fault detection input than the SIM_SOPT4 has bits for.       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hello Sören,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I suppose that both chapters are correct, because in SIM_SOPT4 register you can choose fault detection input between two possible options (fault pin or CMP), for example FTM1_FAULT0.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Even, FTM1_FAULT1 is hardwired to CMP1 output, thus, you are not able to change Fault input. There is not required changes in register.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;best regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;M.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
