Should I connect it to ground plane because data sheet does not mention any thing. If I do not use both RTC and normal external oscillators and just use the internal clock then where should I connect these pins. Can I leave them unconnected?       <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi Tair&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For the thermal pad please check the application note &lt;A href="http://cache.nxp.com/files/analog/doc/app_note/AN1902.pdf?fsrch=1&amp;amp;sr=1&amp;amp;pageNum=1"&gt;AN1902&lt;/A&gt;​&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For the pins the recomendation is For the Kinetis family it is recommended to leave unused pines floating and configure them as disabled. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please also check the &lt;A href="http://cache.nxp.com/files/microcontrollers/doc/app_note/AN4470.pdf?fsrch=1&amp;amp;sr=3&amp;amp;pageNum=1"&gt;AN4470&lt;/A&gt;​&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color: #51626f; font-family: arial, helvetica, 'helvetica neue', verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;Is there any performance difference if I do not use external crystal oscillator?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color: #51626f; font-family: arial, helvetica, 'helvetica neue', verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;the difference is that with external oscillator you can have a more accurate clock frequency if you use a better oscilator than the internal clock, also in some configuration you will have a low power consumption&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color: #51626f; font-family: arial, helvetica, 'helvetica neue', verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;Regards&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="color: #51626f; font-family: arial, helvetica, 'helvetica neue', verdana, sans-serif;"&gt;Vicente Gomez &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
