Hi Everyone:

I am a starter with Freescale products. I currently have a Tower system TWR-K60100M with a MK60DN512VMD10 MCU.

I am using Win 7 and Codewarrior 10.6.

When I tried to download the program onto the board, the error window pop out:

If I click Abort, the error message is:

Error launching HelloworldBareBoard_FLASH_PnE U-MultiLink. ARM GDI Protocol Adapter : Can't connect. The Debugger can not connect to the P&E device

Some other info for your consideration:

I have already updated the bootloader firmware so the hardware connection is OK.

I have tried both CodeWarrior 10.6 and 10.2. Neither works.

I have tried all BDM Debug Shift Freq. Doesn't help.

Hello,

Are you using the card in a Tower? I suggest that you try it standalone, as there could be a power/JTAG issue. I have attached a CW for MCU10.6 project and a picture with my jumper settings. Can you try that?

I hope this helps,

Erich

The system is programmable with TWR-SER module removed.

The whole system (MCU+2 elevators+TWR-SER) is programmable when the serial module is at the second or the third floor from the bottom. I guess the system was just not recognizing the serial board in these cases.

Should I do something to let the IDE know there is a serial board in the system?

I suspect that some signals of the TWR-SER module interfer with the debug signals.

There is nothing in the IDE you can let it know about the TWR-SER present (and that would not make sense).

Maybe a powering issue?

I don't have the problem. It works for me if I power the tower boards (elevator, cpu module and TWR-SER) only with the CPU card USB connector.

I suspect that your PC might not deliver the needed amount of current (mA) necessary. I have seen cases where e.g. with using SD card, a lot of cards/peripherals the power provided to the tower system was not enough, and caused debugging failure.

Erich
