Great news! Thanks for responding...

So, when I attempt to build the latest SDK for the 1060 (actually for the EVK-MIMXRT1060), the latest available version is 2.16.00. So what is my best approach? Will the SDK builder somehow build newer versions or should I just attempt to use the wifi_nxp directory from the 1170 when building for the 1060?

Thanks much for responding!!

question about the wifi_nxp middleware...

I am working with the MIMXRT1060EVK and MIMXRT1170EVKB, running with SDK_2_16_000_EVK-MIMXRT1060 and SDK_25_03_00_MIMXRT1170-EVKB. For both of these boards I am using the same SDIO-based WiFi modem, but I see significant differences between the two directories.

I realize they are different SOCs (1060 vs 1170) but fundamentally the code at the wifi_nxp level should (AFAIK) be the same. There are significant differences, and it appears to me that the code under the 1170 tree is more mature than that of the 1060 tree. Can someone explain why they are so different? Is the 1060 SDK just not as up-to-date as the 1170 tree?

I ask because if it is at all possible, I'd like to not have to use two different source trees for the same WiFi functionality.

Can someone from NXP support explain this?

Can someone from NXP comment on this?
I guess the question is: can I use the wifi_nxp middleware and work it to run with the iMXRT1060?

Hi,

Please see below comments from my side.

Middleware should be same if you use the same version SDK(e.g 25.03) for both RT1060 and RT1170, please check with the same baseline, it should be workable.

It is very certain that there has been a major version update from 2.16 to 25.03, the latest one is more mature.

Hi,

It depends on actual SW/HW and your requirment.

Yes. It only supports SDK2.16.0 if you select 'RT1060-EVK' board, but you will get a newer version if you have 'RT1060-EVKB'. The SDK version is related to the Hardware.

You can use the latest SDK and port them into the hardware RT1060-EVK.

Ok, I didn't realize there was a 'B' version for that board. Regardless (referring to my last post), I was able to use the latest wifi_nxp with my older 1060 SDK. Thanks!
