We are going from Kinetis K64 to a RT1170 platform. I have looked long time in the RT1170 Reference Manual, but I cannot find the register that shows the reset cause of the processor. (Power-On reset, WDOG reset, Software reset etc.). I hope someone can help.

Best Regards,

Peter

Hello @pete2001

you can read the reset reason from the register SRC_SRSR:

The circuit on the NXP Eval boards interrupts the power supply on reset, therefore you will not see all reset reasons there.

Regards

I have never tested how to customize the Eval board to see the watchdog resets, we started directly with our own design.
As you can see in the schematic, a watchdog reset interrupts the power supply briefly. I would try to remove the jumper J73 to see if you can see the watchdog as a reset reason.
