Hi @amira ,

Thanks for your interest in NXP MIMXRT series!

For this method you screenshot, you need to put the EVK in serial download mode before connecting the board to the PC. Please make sure this is done before proceeding afterward.

I usually use MCUBootUtilities for this, here's a document that might help you.

Best regards,
Gavin

Hi @amira ,

Thanks for your update.

But from your screenshot of the error message, it looks like it's in SPD mode and the usb connection is not recognized. This should be a hardware issue. You can try either usb or uart method. Erasing flash in SPD mode is the safest and solidest method.

Also, please connect the usb directly to the computer and not to a hub to prevent introducing other problems.

Best regards,
Gavin

Hello @Gavin_Jia

I changed the configuration on the MCUXpresso Secure Provisioning Tool, I select the board that I'm using (MIMXRT1170-EVKB) and choose the UART method, the board is connected but the mode is on Flashloader (which is not the same as mentioned on the documentation, ROM bootloader mode) I mean this doc (https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-RT-Knowledge-Base/RT-board-recovery-for-debugger-connect-issues/ta-p/1635260), So, can I continue the other steps or it is necessary to set the ROM bootloader first? if so, how?

Thanks.
