MIMXRT106 Arbitrary Flash Memory

Using MIMXRT106F MCU , could i use any arbitrary flash memory? for example a simple SPI flash i have used previously? if so i guess we need to write our driver to work with SPI flash and load it to ram at the beginning of programming process. is there any document to help me?

i am designing now. and must choose decision about flash memory. because suggested hyper flash is expensive and my supplier could not find it easily in the market. thanks for any tips

Regarding your questions, I think there is no way to use an external SPI Flash memory. I would highly recommend you to refer to these links that might be helpful based on your needs.:
