Hello,

I have one question about imx233 that I see about MPU vs MCU on some sites define:

MPU = CPU (single chip)

MCU = MPU + Peripherals + Memory (single chip).

So why call imx233 is microprocessor? I see imx233 has Peripherals, Internal RAM...

Thanks!

Hi Tuan Nguyen,

Basically i.MX233 is an application processor, not only a simple microprocessor. It integrates on-chip ram, DRAM controller, and most of the common used interfaces (e.g. I2C, UART, SPI, SD, USB, etc.).

Best regards

Raymond
