iMX6UL - eMMC

Hi,

I am using iMX6UL in my design with JEDEC/MMC version 4.51 compliant eMMC MTFC4GACAAAM-1M WT. The eMMC part i am planning to use is not recommended for new design.

So I want to move to new part which is MMC version 5.0 compliant eMMC MTFC4GACAJCN-1M WT.

As per datasheet iMX6UL supports MMC version 4.4/4.5.

Can i use ver 5.0 compliant eMMC MTFC4GACAJCN-1M WT with iMX6UL processor.?

Hello Ritesh Patel,

You should be able to use the eMMC 5.0 but none of the 5.0 specific features will be available. You would be using it as a eMMC 4.4/4.5. For this you would need to change the value of card->ext_csd.rev from 6 to 7. You may find more information on the thread below, it's not i.MX6UL specific but the logic would be the same.

i.mx6 with eMMC 5.0 SDR or DDR interface?

5.0 eMMC can be used, we are using 5.0 MTFC4GACAJCN-4M IT part on our i.MX 6ul/6ull board MYD-Y6ULX
