None of the i.MX6 series processors has an on-chip HDMI input, so, anyway, an external HDMI receiver/deserializer IC should be used. The example is the following part (please note that this is for reference only, NXP cannot recommend one part vendor over another):

http://www.analog.com/en/products/audio-video/analoghdmidvi-interfaces/analog-hdmidvi-display-interfaces/adv7612.html

It then can be connected to the processor's Camera Sensor Input (CSI) parallel port as a regular video capture device.

Another possible solution is the HDMI to MIPI CSI-2 bridge, such as the following ones:

http://toshiba.semicon-storage.com/us/product/assp/interface-bridge/hdmi.html

http://www.auvidea.eu/index.php/theme-styles/2014-12-30-22-32-06/b102

Have a great day,
Artur

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note: If this post answers your question, please click the Correct Answer button.
