I am guessing this has been discussed in the past, but I wasn't able to come up with any search results.

We are wondering what sort of fixes & features from the official Freescale maintained kernel are sent to the upstream kernel.org mainline kernel (and vice-versa). We are trying to decide if it makes sense to use a 4.2+ kernel from mainline (as I know we will get a few needed bug-fixes), or to use FSL current 3.14 release.

Is there a (somewhat) easy way to determine at a high level what support or bug fixes exist in each version? in general, how "in sync" is the imx6 development on mainline with the fsl kernel? Perhaps there is a process in place?

thanks for the time
