Hi

I'm trying to get Chromium running on the SabreSD board and having problems with the GPU process crashing when opening a web page. My setup is as follows

FSL Community BSP 1.8 Fido

Kernel 3.14.28-1.0.0_ga+g91cf351

core-image-sato image with chromium (40.0.2214.91) added

Freescale SabreSD board

On boot chromium reports hardware acceleration is enabled and everything looks fine but as soon as you open a web page and check chrome://gpu again all graphics features have changed to "Software only". The chromium log the message is "GpuProcessHostUIShim: The GPU process crashed!".

Has anyone any idea why this is happening. I saw this first on our own board based on the SabreSD so then tried it on a actual SabreSD board with the same result.

Thanks in advance

Ian

Hi Ian,

I guess you need to go to chrome://flags and enable "Override software rendering list" and use the button on the bottom of that page to restart Chrome. Then when you have Chrome opened again go to chrome://gpu and everything should be hardware accelerated.

Hope this helps
