FEC pause frame reception

In the MCIMX51RM.pdf, the explanation of the way the fec in the imx51 handlesPAUSE frame is not compatible with other equipments (switch for instance) sending PAUSE frames.

The documentation says :

The pause

timer increments once every slot time, until OPD[PAUSE_DUR] slot times have expired. On

OPD[PAUSE_DUR] expiration, TCR[GTS] is deasserted allowing FEC data frame transmission to

resume."

But some equipment send PAUSE frame with PAUSE Duration value of 0, in order to resume transmission...

Do you confirm that the FEC does NOT use the PAUSE Duration inside the PAUSE frame ?

If yes, how can the Imx51 cope with an equipement sending Pause frames with PAUSE Duration value of 0...

Pierre, hello !

Correct - "the FEC does NOT use the PAUSE Duration inside the PAUSE frame".
You may set (for FEC) OPD[PAUSE_DUR] = 1 (reasonable minimum), assuming some
impact (obviously - not catastrophic) will take place in such case.
