USB Audio Gadget: change displayed name

Dear all,

I'm using the USB Audio Gadget mode on imx but i would like to change the name displayed on PC host. For now it displays Linux USB audio gadget in alsa interface list. Can it be changed for a custom name without change PID/VID ?

Hi Steph,

The display name could be changed by modifying the “String Descriptors”, which are the strings that are used to “show” a name of the Device on the Host.

Hi Carlos,

Thx for your anwser.

I tried to change DRIVER_DESC in drivers/usb/gadget/audio.c but it does not seem to be enough.

Indeed i guess i need to change the VID/PID couple seen that my linux host is still recognizing it as an Audio gadget class.

What do you think ? What can i use as PID/VID?
