IMX6Q overheat issue

Hi,all

we are developing product with IMX6Q processor MCIMX6Q6AVT10AC & PMIC MMPF0100F0EP.

the attachment is block diagram of my application

When Video input through CSI0 of IMX6Q processor, at the same time Video is playing through LCD_DI0 of IMX6Q processor ;CPU and PMIC is heating to much. VDDSOC_IN drop to 1.2V, the video is not play. the input current is always hold 2.37A of 4.2V of PMIC.Meanwhile ,the console may input command. if you reboot or reset the cpu , the roofs crash.

But when I power down system power and CPU 's the quantity of heat drop away, the system boot up is normal.

But When Video input through CSI0 of IMX6Q processor, at the same time Video is playing through HDMI of IMX6Q processor , the CPU and PMIC temperature is normal. the video is play normal.

IMX6Q overheat issue appear is random,the probability is 5%.

We measured all of voltage of CPU, only PMIC Voltage output to SOC is reducing to 1.20V, as a result VDDSOC_CAP and VDDPU_CAP is drop to 1.0V.The others are normal.

What might be the issue , How can it be handled in Software and Hardware ?

Hi zhao

if issue happens only with LCD, you can test

with removed LCD and check.

Reason may be in high processor high loading with LCD,

due to long cable or (probably) termination resistors.
