i.MX28 linux boot problem

I have i.MX28 EVK. I try to start OS from SD0 from provided SC cards.

WINCE start with no problem.

When i try to boot from ubuntu SD, only penguin appears on left up corner, nothing else happens.

I can't figure out when the problem is, i make new SD card according to instruction on CD (virtual machine, etc.. )

but result is the same. It is possible that something is wrong with hardware ?

provided Freescale Demo (link below) is Linux Demo (not Ubuntu), so small

penguin is correct image.

L2.6.35_1.1.0_DEMO_IMAGE : i.MX28 Linux Binary Demo Files

You can build Gnome image in ltib, it resembles Ubuntu.

I don't know which linux is on SDs, however, it doesn't matter, it just doesnt work.

After power on, i see only the penguin icon and black screen. nothing else happens.

There is no terminal or somethink which give me ability to interact with the device.

Someone could describe how linux boot process should look and what is the final state on the screen after booting ?

I try to boot on linux SD card provided by producer, and also on own SD with linux created using provided DVD. Effects are the same.

Ok, i have used DEBUG UART cable and HyperTerminal, i was successfull logged in as root.

So it is working, but on VGA Display still only penguin is visible.

There is possible to install own linux build with some GUI which will appear on VGA Display?

In video tutorial after boot some window and folders are visible on VGA...

Regarding "own linux build", I doubt it since i.MX28 programming

I guess you could download the image[1] which you can dd directly to the SD and boot the board.

Thanks for responses guys. Sorry for nooby questions.

I am C++ programmer, but I'm totally new in freescale stuff, and unfortunately I'm not too much familiar with linux...

So, let't move to merits:

What I finally need is working linux platform with sample program in Qt, which uses SQLite.

How is the easiest way to do it ?

I will try the images you posted and will write about the effcts.

Thanks for Qt link. currently i have following problems:

I will try to run platform with working Eth0 and Eth1, I build image using LTIB and setup in config

to start Eth0, Eth1, but during boot process i have following logs:

ifconfig: SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address

Sending discover...

udhcpc: sendto: Network is down

Read error: Network is down, reopening socket

udhcpc: sendto: Network is down

No lease, forking to background

And network doesn't work. What i am doing wrong ?
