Need help for beginner with imx233!

Hi everyone,

I intended to use imx233, so I need some your point to understand quickly about it, such as I want to build an application (standalone):

1. What is minimium of hardware required? ( imx233+ SDRAM +...?)

2. When I have bin file (created by such iar arm) , how can I do in-circuit flash programmer as other microcontroller?

Hi,

I'd recommend:

- i.MX233

- SDRAM

- Boot source: NAND flash, NOR flash or SD card

- JTAG interface

- Debug UART interface

That way you can generate test codes running from internal memory (through JTAG) and also test a real boot program that runs from an external memory and debug it from UART.

Try to get access to a mx23 olinuxino board and then you can flash U-boot into the SD card.

U-boot allows you to launch standalone applications.
