    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hi,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Im not familiar with USB Tethering.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have custom device which is connected to another by serial wire.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would like if there any chances to improve stability, and performance of this connection, by replaicing it by USB tethering.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This is my solution:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;|1 DEVICE|&amp;lt;=&amp;gt;FTDI&amp;lt;=&amp;gt;SERIAL&amp;lt;=&amp;gt;FTDI&amp;lt;=&amp;gt;|2 DEVICE|&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;To my device this serial is connected thru FTDI.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have USB port (/dev/ttyUSB_N for example) in my system which is responsible for this type of connection.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Im using PPPD and L2TP to make it possible to bridge this connection with normal ETH.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have usb0 interface in my system.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is it possible to tell usb0 to use /dev/ttyUSB_N ?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;usb0 is able to use bridge without PPPD and L2TP.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Best regards,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Toxic &lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;P&gt;What progress have you made on this issue?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I would suspect that you should connect to the FTDI site and view their software/drivers/samples there is a wealth of info regarding serial communication via a USB-to-serial adapter.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I myself have been working on a similar problem.&amp;nbsp; I am running Android R10.4 (Android 2.3.7) and trying to get serial over USB working (via an FTDI USB-to-serial adapter).&amp;nbsp; So far it appears FTDI has many pieces but they primarily target Android 3.1/3.2 and above.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you're running Android perhaps we are working down a similar path...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Mike&lt;/P&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
