Return mode on iMX6

Hello !

I was wondering what exactly is the return mode which is present on the iMX6 ? I think it's also called FSL mode, the reference manual mention it but doesn't really describe what it is and what we can do with it. It seems to be something between open and closed mode.

Can you provide more context to your question? I am not able to understand what you are asking with your current description.

Hello Fabio,

On page 454 of the RM, we have the description of boot security settings, there are open/closed/field return which is described by "This level is intended for parts returned from shipped products".

On page 456, an eFuse is called FIELD_RETURN and its definition is "Enables FSL reserved modes".

So I would like to know what is field return, and how we can use it ?

In the field return mode Security configuration - is as Open, also FSL Test modes are re-enabled
to allow device testing.

The FIELD RETURN mode is described in the i.MX6 Security Reference Manual.
