I am trying to follow the instructions posted here: <LI-MESSAGE title="i.MX93 Cortex-M33 DDR example" uid="2259696" url="https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors-Knowledge-Base/i-MX93-Cortex-M33-DDR-example/m-p/2259696#U2259696" discussion_style_icon_css="lia-mention-container-editor-message lia-img-icon-tkb-thread lia-fa-icon lia-fa-tkb lia-fa-thread lia-fa"></LI-MESSAGE> by @AldoG to run code from the DDR with remote proc, but with changes so that the startup code is in the DDR.

I am running into an issue where the system crashes when it starts from 0x8F000000 (I have verified REG_SRC_GLOBAL_GPR9 is being updated to this address when starting the M33). I have the ATF and device tree changes but am not sure where else may need to be changed to allow the M33 to start executing from DDR.

I see that in <LI-MESSAGE title="i.MX93 M33 code memory usage summary" uid="2130670" url="https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors-Knowledge-Base/i-MX93-M33-code-memory-usage-summary/m-p/2130670#U2130670" discussion_style_icon_css="lia-mention-container-editor-message lia-img-icon-tkb-thread lia-fa-icon lia-fa-tkb lia-fa-thread lia-fa"></LI-MESSAGE> it is possible to start the code in DDR using uboot, but I am unsure why then it is not working with remote proc.

Separately, I was wondering why the device tree is

dram: dram@20480000 {
reg = <0 0x8f000000 0 0x20000>;
no-map;
};

and not

dram: dram@8F000000 {
reg = <0 0x8f000000 0 0x20000>;
no-map;
};

Hello,

As you may have already notice both threads runs code from TCM and then switch to DRAM at some point, in theory it could be possible to run in DDR from Uboot but right now we do not have examples available.

Regarding my post, the device tree node there created a section at OCRAM where I define where the code running in DDR is at, nothing else, this is way it is 2048_0000.

Also, note that in the Linker file I used it is not optimized to be used on uboot since the binary will create 0's to fill the gap between TCM and DDR being used, thus is why I used RPROC where the elf file is used instead.

Best regards/Saludos,
Aldo.
