Some time back I had tested it and wrote a technical blog -&nbsp;<A href="https://community.nxp.com/t5/i-MX-Processors-Knowledge-Base/Enabling-Infrared-Receiver-on-iMX8MM-EVK/ta-p/2054109" target="_blank">Enabling Infrared Receiver on iMX8MM EVK - NXP Community</A><BR /><BR />The principle remains the same, that a GPIO will be used for an IR receiver.
