HI NXP Teams

How should the conversion efficiency of the PF8100 Type 1 and Type 2 buck regulators be evaluated? Currently, when the load is below 10mA, the conversion efficiency is less than 50%. Is this normal, or are there any other suggested modifications?

Hello,

There is no available benchmarks for PF8100, the efficiency should be measured using the relation between input and output power.

To operate under the PMIC specifications please use the datasheet as reference for your design (component values, connections, layout, etc.).

Best regards.

HI

The PF8100 also supports the autoskip mode, which seems to allow automatic adjustment between PWM and PFM based on load conditions. How can I determine when the IC will switch between these modes?

Hello,

This can be verified in registers SWx_RUN_MODE and SWx_STBY_MODE, by default is configured with autoskip mode.

Best regards.
