Canon LBP6030w printer interface on imx6ull

Hello Everyone,

I am using IMX6ULL and its custom image (yocto image) and i want to interface CANON LBP6030w Laser printer in it via usb only. help me out with that.

I already tried these steps:

I added following packages to local.conf file and build image. Loaded the image and checked with the following commands request id created but printer is not printing anything.

Packages:

IMAGE_INSTALL:append = " cups cups-filters ghostscript libpng qpdf openjpeg colord"
IMAGE_INSTALL:append = " usbutils"

Commands:

Connect Printer

$ lpadmin -p <Printer_name> -E -v <USB_URI> -P </path/to/ppd/file>

Print data of text file

$ lp -d <printer_name> <text_file>

$ lp -d <printer_name> -o raw <text_file>

Hello,

The driver is not compile for ARM, also the driver is not for the version of kernel you are working on. you have to see this with Canon, they should provide a driver for ARM.

I compiled the driver with arm tool chain and get the rastertosfp filter, but still printer is not printing. Now logs dosent show any error, when i use echo "Test Page" > /dev/usb/lp0 in that also printer is not printing anything.

I also tested (echo "Test Page" > /dev/usb/lp0) with Brother printer but with that also not printing anything.

also couldn't find ppd for brother printer

I got the root cause why printer is not printing, when i run print command printer gets disconnected/resets and this is happening every time. Other than this there is no error in cups error logs.
