Scarthgap: WIFI MOAL Driver not building

When I generate a BSP using Mickledore, the moal.ko WIFI driver is built automatically and is in /lib/modules/ and WIFI works correctly.

When I move to the latest version of Scarthgap, v6.6.52, the driver is not built.

root@imx6ull14x14evk:~# modprobe moal
modprobe: FATAL: Module moal not found in directory /lib/modules/6.6.52-lts-next-gce022b5618ff

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in NXP Semiconductor products,

You could try to confirm if the multimedia and/or the full image prebuilt binaries contain the driver downloading them in the following link.

Then we could confirm that generating the image could generate the driver binaries.

We need to investigate this before standalone building the drivers which is also possible.

Hi, apologies for the delay in reply.

I was able to get the drivers we required into imx-image-core by inserting the following into our layer.conf.

IMAGE_INSTALL:append = " firmware-nxp-wifi-nxpiw612-sdio kernel-module-nxp-wlan "
