While I am not new to linux, I am fairly new to embedded linux, and have no past experience with getting displays up and running (all headless up to now). I have recently been assigned to a project in which I need to connect a display to the i.MX 8M Plus PEVK development kit. The display is a SHARP LSO29B3SX06A (https://www.panelook.com/LS029B3SX06A_Sharp_2.9_LCM_overview_43937.html). The catch is that this display has an HDMI to MIPI adapter attached. I cannot find the exact device, but it is similar to this one (https://www.displaymodule.com/products/display-adapter-driver-board-for-hdmi-to-mipi-dsi?srsltid=AfmBOoq8s8x3npymGRitvPEHNIPGAt5B5EtZC-tn-WP3c2G9ioOpvsic).

The i.MX 8M development board connects to a monitor just fine, and I can connect the hdmi-to-mipi adapter to a windows laptop and this works fine. In addition, I can connect the hdmi-to-mipi adapter to a raspberry pi 5 and this works fine. However, when I connect to the i.MX 8M development kit, I get dmesg output as follows:

imx-drm display-subsystem: bound imx-lcdifv3-crtc.0 (ops lcdifv3_crtc_ops)

imx-drm display-subsystem: bound imx-lcdifv3-crtc.1 (ops lcdifv3_crtc_ops)

imx-drm display-subsystem: bound imx-lcdifv3-crtc.2 (ops lcdifv3_crtc_ops)

and then later:

imx-drm display-subsystem: [drm] Cannot find any crtc or sizes

The above message is displayed over and over.

I am about a week in and no further along. Please help!
